Concealed installation isn't simply a matter of "burying it and forgetting about it." The location of the access panel, the modularity of the valve body, and whether adjustment margins are provided all affect future maintenance convenience. A good design will make the mixing valve a pull-out unit, allowing replacement of core components without breaking down the wall.
Thicker panels aren't necessarily better; the key is the internal water channel layout and surface finish. High-quality products use precision laser drilling and silicone nozzles, which are clog-resistant, easy to clean, and provide even water flow. Inferior nozzles are easily clogged by limescale, and the water flow is weak and dispersed.
The humid environment of a bathroom is highly corrosive to metal parts, especially concealed areas such as valve bodies, connecting nuts, and decorative covers. Ordinary electroplating will turn white and peel after six months. High-quality products will use multi-layer nickel-chromium electroplating with a nano-hydrophobic coating, or directly use 304 stainless steel fittings.
